It Begins…

So now I’m back in Portsmouth and I’m starting my fitness plan.

I have a workout schedule for the week and a daily meal plan, counting my calories and aiming for a deficit based on my BMI.

From my induction I learned that my current weight is 81.4KG with 15.1% Fat .

This was surprisingly better than I was expecting but there is always room for improvement.

I also started jogging today, going on a 5km run along the sea front.

I will be doing weekly updates on my progress!

New Era!

So I’ve taken a long break from the last time I posted on here. I’ve been busy over the summer, working to pay back the huge overdraft I built up in my first year of uni. It is now only 2 weeks until I move back to Portsmouth for second year and I cannot wait.

In other news, I have decided on a theme for my blogging. Since I was around 16 years old I’ve enjoyed going to the gym. At one point I got into a strong routine, working out every evening for a good few months. However, since then, I have slacked and this has lead to me getting chubby. I put on just under 2 stone in my first year of uni and felt awful. Since June I have been watching my diet and trying to fit in a bit more exercise and have successfully lost a stone and a half, almost back to what I was. I am now determined to get back into a routine and get stronger and leaner for next summer!
I will post more information on this in a later blog.

Exam Season Has Come To An End!

So the day has finally come, tomorrow morning I will be sitting my final first year exam and it couldn’t have come any sooner!

My past few weeks have been spent sitting exams for my Marketing course which I am sitting at Portsmouth University. So far I have sat the Business Accounting, Quantitative Research Methods, MAPIO and Business Operations, and tomorrow morning at 9:00am I will be in my Economics exam.

The course has been interesting, however it is a bit annoying as I am studying topics which are not relevant to my degree. This is because, for the first year of studying, all subjects relating to Business are grouped together and everybody sits the same exams. There is no way that I will be looking to go into a line of economics or accounting, but the exams are compulsory therefore I need to get them done.

So far I believe the four exams I have taken have gone well and I believe that tomorrow’s one should be the same, though I may be a bit sleep deprived by the time I am there. By 10:30, I will have officially have finished my first year of University and it has been great (but that’s a story for another blog entry). My plan is to now return home to Bromley and get myself a job so that I can fund the activities I have planned for my four month long summer break!

Brand New Blog!

Hi, my name is Joe and this is a brand new blog on which I will be regularly adding new posts and stories. I am new to blogging so please bare with me as I learn the basics and feel free to provide any feedback!

So, first of all, who am I?

My name is Joe Matthews and I am a 19 year old university student. I am taking a Marketing course at Portsmouth University and as a result, am currently living in the city.

When not at uni, I live in South London in Bromley with my parents and brother. I am passionate about exercise and fitness, football and food therefore it is quite likely that those topics will be common on this blog, though that’s not definite. Until I work out what it is that I wish to focus on, my posts will probably be a bit random and mixed.

So that’s it for now, I hope that this is a good introduction to my page and I look forward to posting soon!
